Family Support Group

“I love you. You need help. I can’t help you. But I know a place that can.”

When a child, family member, or friend is in trouble, the family is also in trouble. Without understanding the impact of our words and actions, family and friends can either help or hinder the recovery of a loved one in trouble. That’s where the Family Support group can help. By helping each other to see more clearly – our own healing can begin.

The Caritas Family support group is for anyone who needs help or knows someone who needs help, and doesn’t know where to turn. Meetings are open to parents, siblings, friends, and spouses of people with addictions of any kind, mental health issues or concurrent disorders. Through our own community therapy, we learn to recognize our behavior as enablers, reclaim our peace and regain our strength so we can contribute positively to the recovery of our loved ones.

Meetings are open to the public, free of charge, and held every Tuesday evening from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Caritas Centre located at 241 Hanlan Road, Vaughan, ON L4L 3R7.  Appointments are NOT necessary. In times of questionable weather conditions or for more information regarding these meetings or the program, please call us at 416-748-9988.

Without the family’s inclusion in the recovery of a loved one in the program, success becomes much more difficult.
