As a participant in the recovery process, the individual is involved with the Therapeutic Community by engaging in support group settings (up to three group meetings per day for an hour each) to address various topics. Participants are expected to participate in these groups as an active member and abide by the demands of the Therapeutic Community model of healing. There are no set terms for the length of time someone may be part of the day program (the entire Therapeutic Community process is up to 25 months long); however, there will be regular evaluations and case conferences with families to report on progress.
Admission procedures follow those of our residential component. We encourage individuals and families to attend our Tuesday Night Inquiry Group to learn more about how our therapeutic approaches work. If interested, the individual then contacts our intake worker whereby an assessment is scheduled and attended. Once the assessment is completed and a determination made to admit, the individual may need to commit to a supervised detoxification period (usually up to 72 hours to complete) external and independent of Caritas and/or a doctor’s note supporting attending our day program, as appropriate. Once cleared for participation, the person is given a start date.
